While browsing the web for new phones, I was particularly stunned to realise that we do have a ton of phone brands that are largely unsung but definitely in the market. Then it hit me, why don’t we just showcase these brands specially under a new series here on SmartHUB called #UnsungHeroes.
Pretty cool right?
Without wasting any more time, we kick off this new series with a focus on one of the new comers to the Nigerian and Middle Eastern markets – the FeroRoyale Series.
Cutting the looks of a blend between the Infinix Note 3 and Gionee Marathon M5, the FeroRoyale Series is made up of a team of 3 models – the RoyaleJ1, RoyaleX1 and RoyaleY1.
All 3 phones represent the premium end of Fero, with the X1 being their lead flagship. Irrespective, the Royale Series feature appealing brushed metal bodies, great screen to body ratios and ok CPU and camera performance that suit their prices.
Let’s take a quick look at their features:
•2GB RAM, 16GB ROM expandable via microSD to 128GB
•13MP camera with LED flash; 5MP selfie camera
•Android OS 6.0
•2700mAh non removable battery
Price – To Be Confirmed
Its relatively bigger screen size compared to the others is a plus, just as its faster CPU and better camera performance compared to the J1. Though its battery is better than the J1, the Y1 could have had a better battery capacity considering its bigger screen, improved camera and faster CPU.
The X1 does indeed live up to its standing as a leading flagship with its great battery, camera and memory capacity. However, my fear is how a 3GB RAM would fair on a 1GHz Quadcore MediaTek CPU… Hmmmmm…. Time will tell.
Asides the Royale series by Fero, the OEM also has the Mega, Zoom and Power series as well as host of others.
Personally, I think the league of Ferosmartphones introduced is great for our market as it broadens the horizon of competition. They also seem promising and worthy contenders for being Leaders in the midrange market in Nigeria and the Middle East.
What do you guys think?.. Worth trying out?… Let’s hear your thoughts
