This week, we start off by looking at how one half of Apple’s latest flagships hold forth against its direct rival from Samsung – Apple iPhone 7 vs the Samsung Galaxy S7 :
•4.7in IPS LCD 750x1334p screen @326ppi
•2.1GHz Quadcore Apple A10 Fusion CPU
•2GB RAM, 32/128/256GB ROM
•12MP camera with autofocus, OIS, quad LED flash; 7MP selfie shooter
•Fingerprint ( TouchID) scanner
•Apple iOS 10.01
•5.1in Super AMOLED 1440x2560p screen @577ppi
•2.3GHz Octacore Exynos 8890 CPU
•4GB RAM, 32/64GB ROM expandable via microSD to 256GB
•12MP camera with autofocus, OIS, dual LED flash; 5MP selfie shooter
•Single or Dual SIM options
•Android OS 6.0.1
•3000mAh non-removable battery (Wireless charging & Fast charging support)
•Size and Display – We give this to the S7 for its clearer resolution despite a bigger screen
•Build Quality and Design – The Galaxy S7 takes it for us due to the fact that there isn’t really any serious change to the design language of the iPhone 7.
@Processor Speed – The iPhone 7 wins here due to its new and indeed powerful A10 Fusion CPU.
•Memory – The Galaxy S7 brings more ample RAM to toy around with compared to the iPhone 7, as well as a slot for memory expansion. However, the iPhone 7 has larger memory variants. The S7 does it for us in this round.
•Cameras – Main Cameras
The Galaxy S7 appears to perform better with its 12MP main camera compared to the iPhone 7 as shown above. This is due to its relatively clearer and brighter pictures.
We are yet to get sample selfie pictures of the 2 phones to compare. But we would tentatively give the selfie battle win to the iPhone 7 due to its improved lighting sensors and higher resolution
•Battery – The Galaxy S7 outperforms the iPhone 7 due to its bigger capacity and higher endurance levels.
@Price – The Galaxy S7 is relatively cheaper and so takes the cake here too.
What do you guys think?
