Lol! People and their comments though…
First rumoured in July, Facebook-owned Instagram has finally rolled out the much expected update that grants you control over inappropriate comments that may be left on posts by followers.
This new setting allows users to specify the words they do not want to be seen posted in comments made on their pages, which in turn ensures such comments are hidden from view.
IG is also expected to change the order of comments to start with the “most relevant” (don’t know how that would be ascertained) as against the most recent. The option to also disable comments totally is also expected to debut soon. I think it’s been made available for high profile/celebrity users already judging by Kylie Jenner’s tweet.
The move is seen as a welcome development in ensuring that users are not unduly bullied or harassed in the comments made.
Other new features you may have noticed include a new “Contact” tab on more business-inclined IG users’ pages to enable you contact them either via telephone or email and as well as a “Translation” tab in those users’ profiles that translate other languages used in their profile info to English.
What do you guys think?
