Apple plans a total overhaul in the design and looks of the iPhone 8 next year. Rumours which to a large extent have been proven correct, indicate that the 2017 iPhones would have curved AMOLED screens of at least 5.5inches. This simply points to a possible source/supplier – Samsung.
New info made available suggest that Samsung will ship a total of 120Million flexible AMOLED screens to Apple for the iPhone 8 over the next 3years with the first batch of 40Million screens expected to be made in 2017.
However, we’re made to understand that these screens will likely be for the “Plus” variant models of the 2017 iPhones. Other likely suppliers to join Samsung in OLED screen supplies include JDI, LG, Sharp & AUO.
It sure would be exciting to see how Apple pulls this off.
