The Hyperkin SmartBoy, which debuted at the E3 Gaming meet last week, is set to bridge the gap between those eccentric but nostalgic days playing games on your Nintendo GameBoy with today’s modern power of your smartphones. Lovely right?…
It’s practically a GameBoy sawed in half with a micro USB connector within for your phone to slide in and connect with. It’s casing upfront comes with the directional pad, A & B buttons, as well as the START & SELECT buttons known on the typical GameBoy. The cartridge, which could either be the classic GameBoy or GameBoy colour options, slides in at the back.
No time of official release and pricing has been made known yet.
It’s said to be only compatible with Android for now, with a revised edition coming soon to be compatible with iPhones.
