For another consecutive quarter, Canadian OEM, BlackBerry, has recorded operating losses in its just concluded quarter. In its report briefing, falling sales of its units Worldwide accounted for the recent losses, with the BlackBerry Priv disappointingly recording even reduced sales quarter on quarter. However, the Canadian OEM continues to do well in software & security solutions services to enterprise.
Despite the bleak future as indicated by their recent financial results, BlackBerry’s CEO, John Chen, remains very optimistic of improved sales figures before the end of the year. When asked about future BlackBerry smartphones, he stated that he wasn’t ready to unveil any info just yet, but would do next month.
Analysts suggest he probably hinted at the official launch of the 2 midrange Android smartphones they have been working on for awhile. Codenamed – Hamburg and Rome, both have received a fair share of the leaks treatment.
The said new midrange phones will be priced a lot cheaper than the Priv so as to appeal to a mass market and hopefully increase sales Worldwide.
We await the developments….
But is it…
