The Management of Microsoft and LinkedIn yesterday agreed to a $26.2Billion cash acquisition of LinkedIn by Microsoft @ $196/ share. The said acquisition would see LinkedIn retain its independent identity, brand & culture, but it’s CEO, Jeff Weiner would now report to Satya Nadella, CEO, Microsoft.
LinkedIn is believed to have attracted Microsoft in light of its steady growth over the years in connecting professionals around the World. The possibility of leveraging on this network for the accelerated growth/acceptability of the Microsoft Office 365 suite is also a catch, as well as a unification of their cloud & network services.
Investors & Management Teams alike are in full support with the transactions expected to be tidied up by year end.
